I removed the right side muffler as there was a crack starting in the piece between the manifold and the muffler. A simple weld and a gusset fix the problem. The point is, I noticed the the main power cable to the starter was laying against the muffler, it was almost burnt through, that would have caused a light show for the onlookers. I changed the angle of the cable at the starter and installed a heat shield. Just though I would mention it as it only takes a second to check before your next road trip. We had a forest fire started here yesterday when a new plastic M/H caught fire in the engine compartment burning it and it's tow car to the frame. No fire protection in the hinter land....

Wow!!, aren't you glad you inspected everything?  Yeah, we can imagine what would have happened if the cable had melted enough.  Suppose the point here is to trust nobody when it comes to your coach and a good inspection can really prevent disaster.  :) :) :)
