costco vs trojan batteries

I am not electrically versed. I have 4 comprable t-105 house batteries i need tp replace.(see link for specs)

I may replace them with 4 rv marine batteries from costco. the specs are:
FITMENT CODE 13

COLD CRANKING AMPS 550
CRANKING AMPS 700
RESERVE CAPACITY 140
12v
The Costco batteries are 1/2 the price.
Will the Costco batterys do the job tas the same as the 4 6v trojans?
The 4 comprable trojans did the job so am i getting more juice with the 12v marines?

Chris, if I am not mistaken the Costco marine  batteries  were just 85 amp hrs and 4 of those will give 340 amp hrs at 12 v and 4 of the 105 Trojan 6v 225 amp hrs batteries will give you 550 at 12 volts some of the electrical guys will tell you what would be the best to go with I would check the amp hr rating on the Costco batteries   good luck

the costgo batt is a marine starting batt from the specs....the trojan is a deep cycle.

The RV/Marine are generally "kinda" deep cycle, not a true deep cycle. I belive the Trojan' 105 are a golf cart type battery?  Since I have been around the Sam's Club golf cart type battery has been the biggest bang for the buck.

Chris, the information you need to make an informed decision is the Amp Hour rating, not the cranking amps. If the amp hour rating of the Costco batteries is indeed 85AH, I'd lean toward the Trojans, unless you don't need anymore than that for your needs. But like Jim said, you might shop around (Walmart) . There are some good links here regarding batteries that you might want to search out before you commit. They're very educational and helpful. And the Trojans will outlast the regular 'deep cycles' by a bunch and will even be more tolerant of abuse. Not that a busnut would ever abuse the batteries.

I may be mistaken, but one of things I compare in lead acid batteries is the weight.  Since there is probably no magic technological difference, the amount of materials used in its construction says a lot.

Nothing to add here.  If you proposed batts state a cranking amp rating, then you may NOT want them for your application.  Sounds like they may be oranges---what you want is apples.  They may be starting batts given a sort of deep discharge rating which they may not really have.

You want a batt that gives an amp hour rating, usually either over an 8hr, 20hr ,or 40hr time period.  Forget a cranking rating....that may mean they are CRANKING batts and not deep cycle batts.  The internal construction is different also.  Golf cart batts can be physically heavier.

i will go with the golf cart batteries.  The costco batteries are $53.00 ea where the trojans are over $100. in mass. I was trying to save some $$ but i do not think they will work over the course of the day like my old trojans.
