major Eagle problem?

Ok, guys, I think I have a major problem with my eagle, the run from Bk's to home registered 1011.6 miles by the route we took, I kept the speed at 60 with no greater bursts than 65MPH, mainly at a steady 60 with a gentle foot.  I stopped to top off the tank 3 times using a total of 89.9 gallons of fuel, according to my limited math skills that says we averaged a little over 11MPG.  I've never gotten that kind of mileage before and I'm not sure what to do, does that mean I have a problem with my motor?  Did it change parties and become democrat?  I even double checked on my atlas and from tennessee to michigan its still all uphill according to my atlas. And no, I didn't forget to mark down a fuel stop, I kept carefull books, the best I've gotten in the past was around 7.9MPG. Any idea's?  Almost forgot, it's a turboed 6V92, allison 740.

 Great job Cody if you keep that little guy between 1500 and 1800 rpm where it was design to run it will do a great job on fuel and be your friend for a long time

One thing that I found surprising was the moderate speed of the semi's, they seemed to be averaging around the same speeds I was.  North of Madison the semi's seemed to be moving faster but for the most part they were running around 60 to 62.  Most of the fuel signs we saw had the fuel listed around 4.85 to 4.90, gas up here is 4.17 and diesel is 4.84 right now.

How large is your fuel tank?   Why did you stop and top off 3 times?  Bored or what?   When on the road I start looking for fuel with about a 1/4 of tank left. Which means one fill up is always over 100 gallons.

Maybe the fuel return line orfice is plugged. Look at your fuel reciepts and make sure you didn't get some gasoline in it.

  This is what we used to do. We now stop as soon as we are down to 3/4 tank. Lately, it seems if we wait until we are at 1/4, the price has went up and we end up paying more per gallon.  Jack

Bill, I stop every couple hundred miles to walk around a bit, I get crippled up after a few hours behind the wheel, so I get up and walk around and usually top off the tanks at the same time.
