A note on "big ticket" ebay items...  Many sellers of "big ticket" items do not actually intend to sell the item on ebay.  They list it for the advertising exposure.  Considering the # of potential buyers you can reach, the listing fee is pretty small as compared to other forms of advertising to reach the same volume and geographic scope of potential buyers.  Listing on ebay (done correctly) can also make your item pop on some internet search engines.

I agree, our listing of my Dad's 4108 was purely for exposure.....it was listed once for the fees, second time for free and all subsequent times have been minimal fees due to listing fee sales.

In fact I think alot of big ticket items sell after the fact on ebay.......most people can't up and runa cross country within a weeks notice to look at something.....

My MC-8 was listed on ebay.....I bought it after the listing ended directly
