If I had $8K sitting around I would try for the scenic on ebay you posted in the other thread. The look is pretty decent on the inside, the seller is a bit out of it, it comes with a gen, and most of the fixins seemto be there.  Bedroom looks nice, you just need a busnut in the area to go take a look before getting invved with the bidding.  Might go for 8K, and IMHO nothing beats the presence of a scenic (and I still think they are ugly).

Pickle, not trying to be discouraging....as there are buses out there for less than 8k.  However, being self proclaimed non handy or not knowing what you are doing I would recommend not buying a 8k bus.......especially off ebay from someone that knows nothing about said unit.

Unless of course you are prepared for a worst case scenerio of having to put several thousands more into it.......it is not hard to do that just in parts alone......if you were doing the work yourself, or could find another bus not to do it for you.

I urge you to think with your mind and bank account ballance rather than your desire to have a bus.

I hate seeing people piss money away, unless of course you are in the upper tax brackets and have the money to piss away.

Of everything that I have seen for $8k or less, it was closer to scrap than useable as an RV - unless you are used to living under bridges or on park benches . . . .

Maybe I should be looking elsewhere . . . .

An 8 with a S50 would be a really nice tin tent to start in. Then you could travel to visit with other busnuts to get help with the interior details.

Whatever you do, don't put any money on one until an OK from a knowledgeable bus nut or older bus mechanic that have inspected it bus for structural condition and road ready (engine, trans, working brake, wiring is OK and tires)

The best bargain is the one who having money problem that need 8k quickly for higher value motorhome.

Keep doing what you already doing. Be patience until that bargain is available. I wait over 1 year to find what I have now a shell.

Like what Tekebird already posted from E...Bay. They might take 8k if no body buy it.

Pickle, there is a 57 model GM 35 ft here in Mohave Valley Az on US 95 I don't know what model it is (not a GM person) the phone # is 928-716-6978 it's not a bad looking bus.I know nothing about the bus except there is not oil on the back or on the ground  I don't know the guys name but give him a call

tekebird

Pickle,

does you 8k cover just the bus or is that aprt of the budget to get it home to you.

keep in mind a bus on the east coast that needs to go to the west coast is going to cost almost 2k in fuel, let alone a good idea to have a lube and oil prior to the trip and any necessary tidbits that need to be done.

Yeah, right.  A lot of folks say that...however when the rubber hits the road, the only way they get much out of them it to strip them down...and that takes time!
