I was infected with the bus nut fever back in 1958 when the scout troop I belonged to chartered a greyhound for a week for a trip. The driver spent some time with me showing off the inside workings of the bus and that was all it took. Over the years I would see converted buses going down the road. When I was finally able to get one the fever overcame me again. Thru several units - 4903, 2 RTS, transit to Eagle 01 (still use) to 2 EL3 MCI's ( working on) is continued. Last week I drove the eagle home from its winter home in Florida to South Dakota. I DID NOT see one single converted bus on the road!!! I did see a couple of run down units sitting in yards along the way but all looked like they had been setting for a LONG time. SO -- where are the bus nuts??? Is there any cure for this??

I want to say its the fuel, but there has to be more.  I notice that many of the folks who collected and showed off antique buses are no longer in the hobby and they were dropping out before the astronomical fuel prices we are seeing now.

It is still nice weather here in Arizona so nobody is leaving but wait till July

Melbo

We also used to see more conversions than we do now but we drive ours whenever we can wherever we can

Tenor,

I have a cold one for that comment.... ;D

Kyle and Jack Hart Jr should be bye the Ponderosa sometime tomorrow with his NEW Scenic, a few steaks (Home Grown) on the barbie and a visit from NCBob and all should be well in the bus world.

Ya just gotta love that Kyle........

Hi yo silver

I'm here!  I'm here!  You're not alone in your craziness.  To contribute my 2 centavos worth...(he only reason I used the spanish term is that I can't find the cent mark);  I just bought an MC9.  The only person crazier than the guy trying to sell a bus now is the one trying to  buy one!  I vacilate between loving it and hating it, or at least, wondering what I must have been thinking! He! He! (Refer to the remarks below the signature...

I saw dozens of buses today as I was driving back to Augusta.  Although most were the big boys coaches headed in and out of town for the Masters.
