TomC,

Interesting notes about the scenicruisers.  Knew some of it, but certainly not all.  And GM did make a V-ruve 4501 (SDM/SDH 4501).  OK, trick response.  Those 4501s were surburban fishbowls.

Did any of the 4105s with the 2 4-71's survive either without a change or at least a restoration? Museum or collector?

In 1961/1962 when Greyhound had the Scenicruisers re-powered by Marmon-Herrington in Indianapolis,IN.
All of the remaining 980 Scenicruisers that Greyhound had in the fleet were rebuilt.
(21 were lost due to accidents or fires) :'(
Note:Greyhound has PD4501-001 in it's historical fleet.
The Greyhound Museum in MN has one Scenicruiser in it's historical coach fleet.
Pacific Bus Museum has one Scenicruiser in it's fleet.
There are a small amount PD4501 Scenicruisers that are owned by private owners that are still seated coaches and will never be converted to motorhomes. ;D
And there are some Scenicruisers on the road today as motorhomes.
One Scenicruiser owner is doing research on how many remaining Scenicruisers are left and the total amount is still being counted.
More later.
jlv ;D

So are all of those still powered with the 2 4-71 set up?

I guess I was a little hazy in my previous reply.Sorry. :'(
All of the 980 Scenicruisers were re powered with a 8V/71 and a Spicer 4 speed transmission.
There were no Scenicruisers in the Greyhound fleet after the rebuild & repower with the 2-4/71 powerpacks.
The one that Greyhound has in it's historical collection PD4501-001 has the 8V71 & Spicer 4 speed transmission.
I hope this clears the haze and we can see clearly now. ;D
