Spira Tire Gauges

Just made another impulse purchase.  I bought a set of Spira screw-on tire gauges.  These are supposed to replace the valve stem cap so one can see tire pressure by looking at them.  Does any one have any experience with them.  The idea seemed like a natural to me at first, but maybe not if they naturally leak.

Lin, I think that would be a cool idea.  Just by walking around the bus conversion doing your walk around you could tell just by glancing the tire pressure of all your tires.  Works for me.  Thank you.

Hi Lin,

They will be great for the bus with your metal valve stems, just don't put them on Rubber valve stems.

Centrifugal force will bend the stems while under way and cause a leak at the base of the rubber.

yea, It happened to me    and also happened last year when I put my Prusure Pro senders on my Yukon's valve stems.

They bent and leaked. I had to install metal stems on that too.

I installed them on the front and they appear to be reasonably sturdy and accurate.  the dual ones don't fit due to the length and direction of the stems.  Is there anything wrong with bending the brass stems a bit to help this work?

I have a 2005 Ford car that had pressure sensitive valve caps on it from the factory. Walk around the car and see all green valve caps. A small drop in pressure the valve cap changes to red. It is the only place I have seen them and I don't know if they are available for bus tire higher pressure.
