Rare treat today when stopping at the light at the end of my street, coming through on the highway was a 4107 or 08 35' footer in the livery of Intermountain Transportation. Did'nt look like it was a charter, as it was dirty and several rear windows were cracked and the driver looked like a hippie (hey, I'm an old hippie myself so no offense intended :)! First Buffalo I've seen in Athens,GA and it had local tags, so if its owned by one of our family of nuts, drop me a line!

to my knowledge there are two running around in that livery.

one was a seated coach the other was a motorhome.  both used in We are marshall movie.  the one actually was an ex intermountain, the other was painted that way....to match for the movie.

the Motorhome one was for sale a while ago...and I beleive the production company bought the seated one......don;t know what happened to it after the movie

If memory serves the motor home one was down from that area

Tekebird..

Was unaware of the livery, but I am familiar with the We Are Marshall movie and that the buses were GM Short Buffalo's. I saw the ad for the one for sale, but I could swear it said "seated coach". Bit too rich for me at the time.

Nick..

Hehe, funny. Hope no offense at the hippie comment was taken, as none was intended. Like I said, I'm an old hippie myself who works in the music industry, if that doesn't say it all. As for your daugther, get her her own tie-dyed T-shirt, then she can't complain about yours ! :) At least he was driving a GMC Coach and not a psychodelic schoolie with a window air hanging out the back......:)

tekebird

now Tom, you must have grown out of your hippie stage as Nick did....if you still had any true hippie left in you I think you would love the window A/C out the side of a bus and would chastise a comment such as yours as being elitist

LOL

BusCrazyTom

Tekebird,

Not so sure I've outgrown it like Nick, I think I've just become a middle-aged hippie with good taste. Maybe that's what happened to Nick! :) Suffice to say that perhaps I've become an eliteist hippie for the Mercedes set?

Charles Seaton

Tom and Tekebird,

the seated coach came from Avalon Bus Sales in Pa.

Charles...

Thanks for the information. Always interesting to know where these babies are hiding. When my finances get flush again, instead of "flushed" (like down the loo) as they have been lately, I'll be ready to hit the "buy" button on one of those creatures.

Thanks
Tom

I like them, too.  Several years ago a buddy was selling his buses and had a nice 4108. I ended up buying one of his suburbans instead.

tekebird

yes that is where it was.

photos on the site looked good but closer inspection of detailed photos revieled it as an average coach.....nothing too special.

if your really looking for a seated Buff you ought to grab one if you find it...they are getting few and far between.....and of those there are very few nice ones.

BusCrazyTom

Tekebird...

Yes, I agree, they are getting fewer in number daily. I've had to pass on several nice Buff's in the last year due to having my bus budget consumed three times over due to Momma's 3 strokes. But hopefully things will stabilize soon and I can put one in the yard. Prefer to buy a seated coach or an already stripped bus, as I want to start my conversion from scratch if possible, without tearing up someones previous conventional conversion. But it really doesn't matter as the end decision is largely budgetary and according to what presents itself when the cash is handy.
