Doug,
I have to admit I also did a double take on the name, but IF you read it correctly you see it is not in fact the correct name of MAK. Also there are 3 other clues this is not one of Mike's listings (opps 4) [1] It's in Florida not CA [2] It clearly states "maintains records available" [3] there is no mention of Bus Conversions Magazine [4] there is no support our armed forces ads!

That auction looks like a typical e-bay auction these days. No logical reason for $30k jump in price on the last bid to what is likely a shill bidder with 0 previous buys. Since it shows as a sale I hope the seller has to pay the final price fee.

Well from what I see it went for about the going rate for that model bus (*actually below market value if it indeed was that low of miles and good shape*). And my guess is that the last 2 bidders were dealers that know what they can get out of it in resale with a little clean up and time. The second to last apparently had a proxy bid just below what it actually sold for (which doesn't show in the bid details I know this from previous personal experience) and the winning bidder probably placed about a $90,000.00 bid on it, and won. This bus* will easily resale for $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 with a good detailing and a little advertising, and the ability to wait for the right buyer. *If it was indeed the advertised condition!*

My e-bay experience always shows the winning bid just the minimum amount above the next highest bid, even when it was a proxy bid. It would be surprising if a dealer had never bought anything on e-bay before and now it is common for sellers to reject any bid from a bidder with 0 previous buys.

Was anyone watching to see what the reserve price was?
