When Greyhound had all the Scenics routed thru Marmon-Herrington in 1961-1962 for the powertrain swap and some other upgrades, the coaches emerged with new paint livery, too.  Often called the "Gold Stripe" version, this paint scheme was also carried over to the Highway Travelers (4104s) plus a few Flat Backs (4106s), and was quite popular.

"What do skoolies have to do with Scenicruisers?" you ask.  Read on, read on. . .

I had lunch today with a good friend of mine, who happens to be the Director of Transportation for one of the large local school districts.  Joe's been involved with buses since he and his brother were kids - their dad worked for Greyhound (just like JLV's), back when the mighty Scenics ruled the roost.

Anyway, during our conversation, I asked about his brother's Scenic, and just happened to comment on the fact I really liked the Gold Stripe livery Greyhound used back in the '60s, which is the way his brother's bus is painted (pic below).

Joe then told me that during Len's research into the Gold Stripe scheme, he discovered that the new reflective yellow tape found on skoolies is virtually identical in color to the original shade 'Hound used 'way back when.  And I thought to myself:  "Bingo!  A parts source!"

So, for those Scenic owners who might be interested in recreating the same look - check with your local school district's transportation shop.  Joe told me his shop keeps some on hand, and that it's also available from body shop suppliers.  He thinks it's a 3M product.

And now you know "the Rest of the Story". . .

You're probably talking about 3M Reflexite tape.
