I was just offered a running, drivable PD4501 here in Summerville, Alabama for $3500.

I got no information on it, I got no phone number, I got no nuttin'.

The guy came up to me and was talking to me at the flea market here. He likes old buses, and likes our 4103 because of the front end.

I told Cat, (the wife), what he wanted for it and she wasn't impressed since we just bought an MC9 that we have to go start converting soon up in Chattanooga.

If you want more information, get in touch with the flea market here, come down and spend a weekend at the flea market with a sign up letting people know what you are looking for and see if you can make a deal.

Right now it looks like we'll be here a few more days so if I see the fella again, I'll ask him.

Dallas

If you can get any Info Or tell me the name of the flea market and I can find him I can be there on the weekend of the 16th with a stack of $20's

Damn Dallas, you could at least got his name & number & shared it here. Thanks for not letting me know about it. I'd probably have tried to get it.

As for it being worth anything in parts . . . It had better be either seated or have a lot of great conversion stuff. There is a limited, very limited market for Scenicruiser parts. I'd be surprised if there were more than 500 left in good enough shape to have any possibility of ever hitting the road. & of those, just how many owners are looking for parts? Most parts are adaptable from other sources. The only real issue for spare parts is the curved glass - especially the rear window. But Plexiglas can be substituted for most.

Butchered scenics don't bring much, & if they don't run the cost of moving them can be high.
There is a real good reason I have been given 4.

Mike, if you do get a 4501, be ready for lots of advice on what you should have gotten from 'experts' that don't even own one.  ;D

Oh, Pete was reluctant to put his bus up for sale, but his inability to use it forced him. . . . But recently, he had a favorable turn of events that has opened up the future possibilities.  So if you plan on low-balling him on price, don't be surprised if you get an adamant rejection.
(If it were me, I'd not only adamantly reject a low ball offer, I'd probably add some personal insults of my own!  ;D )
