Here in Gunnison, if it is after 10:PM, you can get pulled over for just about anything so they can see if you've been drinking. The officers I know say failure to dim your lights, or even slow response is justification to get stopped. They really don't care so much about the lights, they just want to see what you're up to (read:drinking). I have to think the lights were just a reason to get pulled over. I don't remember if it was posted, did he get ticketed for the "illegal" lights as well?

He didn't get ticketed for illegal lights. Around here they usually drop everything else if they can write a DUI.

I think the limit here in OH is also .08. I've never had a DUI so I don't know for sure.

I made my living for 38 years as an electrician but worked on a nuclear site for 3 where you had to certify to weld. Every craft in the building trades does their own welding.

After welding for about a year I noticed my eyes were more sensitive to light, especially at night if raining.
I've talked to a lot of other weldors who experienced the same problem. It is a touchy situation with me. Bright lights hurt my eyes.

I'm not sure why this thread started out about headlight but ended up as "The evils of drinking".

This is common on most bulletin board I guess. I don't know why people always want to change the topic. If you want to talk about DUI's start your own thread.

Thanks for letting me vent without getting angry.
