Anyone ever used an Ecostar inverter. An outfit on Ebay has them listed at a very cheap price. Claim they are pure sine wave at 4.5KW - 24volt input.

I've never heard of them.

I'd shy away from anything that was purpose built for vehicles or boats ( or aircraft if you can afford that type)

The ecostar is made by Ballard Power Systems, a well regarded company in the cogeneration, back up power and fuel cell industry.

I take it back.... Ballard makes the ecostar inverter for very high power applications but the EcoStar is apparently some one else..,.no opinion on that.

Ecostar inverters are good, aimed initially for fixed [home] solar applications, but anywhere 24V is used, and are pure sine wave ... that starting price is about 50% of retail
