Priming a ProHeat

Well, I finished all the hoses, heater cores, fill/expansion tank, etc. Now I am filling the system.  My fill/expansion tank is the highest point in the system by about 2'.  However, there are a couple places where the hoses leave a heater core, go up and then back down to the next core/exchanger. I know these are potential air locks. Here is my question: "can I disconnect and hot wire the coolant pump in the ProHeat to purge the air out of the system? This system is isolated from the engine coolant system.  Thanks in advance, Jack

I wouldn't see why not.

Hi Jack,

You can force fill the system with your garden hose or an external pump using a 5 gal. bucket if

you are using glycol/antifreeze solution.  You would have to set-up hose bibs to do this.

Another way to bleed the air out of your heat exchangers is to add a #67 automatic vent at the

highest point of the exchanger. This way if your system devolops a small syphon leak, the vent will

bleed the air out automaticly. I have 2 of theese in my system
