Installing Vanner Equalizer

We are installing a Vanner equalizer. Does it make any difference if the equalizer is hooked with the wires coming from the batteries to the inverter? This would mean the equalizer would be hooked to the inverter same as the batteries are hooked to.

I hooked mine up that way. It has worked fine for 3 years.
