part#for a 8v71 alternater gasket needed

hey guys i need a good part # for the gasket (6 bolts) for mounting the alternater to the block like i sayed 6 bolt holes  about 8 inches round i gave the parts guy my part# from my parts book and they shot it out no good any other #s i can try would be nice thanks guys     1970 gmc  8v71

I'm not sure, but you could probably just tell them you need a gasket for the 6 hole accessory drive on the back. It should be the same whether it's for a generator, alternator, compressor or just an accessory drive cover.

If all else fails, get a tube of Ultra Copper RTV and seal it with that.

 idont have the part number but when i replaced the blower on my engine i took the alternator adapter in to the part departments he had no problem giving me the adapter to block gasket and the alternator gasket evidently the adapter that bolts to the block they call it a figure 8 thats specific to the bus aplication and he was able to get the right alt gasket by knowing that. they are here in wilmington nc covington detroit diesel
