JT,
I was just looking at your other post today and saw you'd gotten no responses! Sorry man if I had an idea I'd be glad to offer it! Have you tried Prevost (yeah I can't belive I asked that either!) or maybe C & J's or Luke (US Coach) or even Home Depot for maybe some standard weater striping material?

I wish I had some better ideas, but I don't let us know if ya find anything! I have some luggage bay doors i need to reseal soon too! I ain't never heard no complaints yet but the other day I was in the bay after we'd had a storm and there was a lake in there! So I need to fix it before customers start complaining!

I dont know what your seal looks like but at one of the big auto shows and swap meets there was at least one guy there who looked to have every type of seal you could think of. if I can find a name I will let you know. you might try www.restorationspecialties.com and see if something there is similar. they make stuff for cars dating way back and lots of the stuff on buses is standard industry stuff so you may get lucky.

JT,

I was having problems finding a seal for my entry door.

I finally got some tractor cab insulating foam and using a hot knife cut what I needed. The stuff is waterproof, comes in sheets 1/8" to 2" thick and about 3' X 7'. I bought mine at a flea market, but I've seen it in lots of other places.

I held it on with 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive, better known as "Gorilla Snot"

sorry i took so long to reply. just got back in from church.
the seal looks to be about 1/2 in wide and same deep. and 30 in
tall. bays are about 60in wide. or close.  thanks jt.

don't know about MCI, but I got a replacement door seal for my 62 4106 from Luke at US Coach...works great...on my bus, takes about a bazillion screws which were no fun to take out...but once new one was in, it took 3 men and a small boy to close the door enough to turn the lock on dead bolt.  eventually loosened up after some use and works great now...quiet and dry..good luck ::)

jt,

I'm sorry to hear you are having so many problems with leaking water. Do you have a parts manual on your coach? It should list what you need. If not have you tried any local auto body shops? It would help if you could take them a sample of what you are looking for.

I am not familiar with Prevost's at all, but when I heard you lost some musical stuff I felt sad.

Good Luck,

Paul

Considering this is more serious than an inconvenience....

I'd head for the OEM seals, or proper replacements from the listed reputable sources.

And then the job is done for years to come.

happy coaching!

Duct tape won't last long so be sure to make a real fix sooner rather than later.  I found that duct tape doesn't last more than a month or two even up here in Minnesota.  Believe it or not, it does get downright hot up here during the summer.

hey jim
we have one in overton tx, canton,tx queen city tx and texarkana. also in waldron ark. called turkey track which is the largest in this area. we have had some shut down because of fuel expense , i think that was the worst  problem.

i realy like the bluegrass gospel . and sure like to jam when i am not working my store.  thanks j.t.   i would like to thank each of you for the input on leaking door seals.
