Headed to Delaware so sez the grapevine.    Very sorry to hear about that ticket thing.  Reckon you can just "leave" the state?  Another term for "avoidance".
Got brake lights?  You can hot wire the tail lights by attaching a fused lead to the alt/starter bus on the RH side of the frame.   You could even put a switch in the lead.  Attach it directly to the tail light running light wiring.  May power up your rear clearance lights too.  Assuming that the tail light assemblies are functional.
If the tail lights are working, the trailer should be a non-issue.  Obviously, you can see around the trailer.  A couple of reflectors will get you by on the trailer...as long as the bus lights are working.
You could install a couple of 24V bulbs in the trailer lights.  Swap the tail/brake leads and you've got a 24V trailer lighting system.  Hook up the brakes and tail lights using a flat four plug (boat trailer style).  Let the bus do the turn signals.

Darn Ron,
I am sorry to hear about that ticket deal.  Those state troopers just watch for out for out of staters, hope this will not be costly and that you get it fixed properly anyhow.  When you get to Delaware, the crew up there will do all they can to make you forget the terrible welcome you just got.  I had a good time rubbing elbows with you during the rally and your visit to our home.

Safe speed now, tell the Delaware gang I wish we could of come.  Going to see DR. this week I hope, sure glad I was still able to do a couple of things to help you out.

Hang on now for a good time with great friends up there in Del, you will see.

Yeah, that's the way to fix it! Should be good for another couple years.   ::)

It's not like this topic hasn't been over discussed in the past here on the board.

If I recall, you have an MC9, right?  It's not rocket science. Tail lights on that bus are pretty simple, and connecting some sort of
trailer lights is only a bit more complicated.

But that ratchet strap should do the trick... till the motorcycle battery dies!

No problem with the scoot battery.  Just run a couple wires from the rear bus battery to the motocycle battery.... ;)
THAT would be a "permanent" fix!

That's even better!

Go to NAPA and get a couple 50' rolls of 12ga wire. Run two wires from the battery compartment down the side of the bus, and back
to the motorcycle battery. Use duct tape to attach them to the side of the bus and keep them from draggin on the ground.
Make sure you leave enough wire hangin so it won't pull your motorcycle off when you make a sharp turn.

For the bus, go to Walmart and get a couple tap lights and a can of red spray paint. Paint the lens of the tap lights red, and duct tape them to the back of the bus. Two or three should do the trick. Then, before you take off, just go back there and tap all the lights to turn them on.

Did you hear about the guy (true story) who got a ticket and a picture in the mail of him running a red light.  So, this brainy guy took a picture of $125.00 and mailed that in.  A couple of days later, he got a picture of a pair of handcuffs in the mail.

He paid the ticket.

kewl, make sure he fixes those lights before he leaves.  They weren't working when he got here over a month ago and still aren't fixed.

So now that I have my lights fixed I decided I needed some redundencey so I duck taped some trouble lights on the rear of my bus. one on each side with a red bulb in it and run a string up to the drivers area that is hooked to the pull chain so I can pull it on and off for signal lights, both at the same time for brake lights. I also have a mag light hinged to hang down and shine on my license plate and can be pulled up via string to use as a backup light. I ran an extension cord back to my trailer and put my smart charger on my MC battery so it won't drain down. Smarter than the average bear  8)
