operating temperature on a V730

What would be the normal operating temperature on a V730 Allison automatic transmission?

In no way am I an expert but from what I can recall from earlier discussions that 215-225 would be considered normal with temps around 250 under a heavy load.  Anything above that would be in the danger zone for sure.

Anyway I thought I would bring this back to the top to gain some interest for you.  (or aleast someone could tell me how wrong I am....

from what I have gathered from oil companies and builders alike is that any oil temp needs to run in the 215 to 220 range. this is mostly for condensation. they want the oil to get hot enough for the moisture to turn to steam and vent out otherwise it just stays in the oil as a contaminate and reduces lubrication. on our race motors using synthetic engine oil I have seen the temp peg the 300 degree gauge when we lost oil. the engine was so hot that the next morning it was still warm. on tear down the only damage was warped cylinder heads due to heat. I guess the moral is that good oil can take a lot of abuse and still do its job.
