A recent newsletter from the Motor Bus Society http://www.motorbussociety.orgmentioned that GM and Yellow Coach Final Vehicle Records are available from the Ohio Museum of Transport.  The Final Vehicle Records detail components on the delivered vehicle including engine and transmission serial numbers; paint numbers, and the date the vehicle was shipped.

GM Field Reps had copies on microfilm, and one set was donated to OMOT.  OMOT is making paper copies of specific records available (you'll need model and serial numbers), for a donation of $25.00.  Or, if you join (dues $25.00), you get one printout as a member.  I joined to get a FVR for my 4107.

The contact is Mike Ondecker at OMOT; silversidespdg@yahoo.com or P.O. Box 454, Tallmadge, OH  44278.

In exchanging emails with them, they only have the Yellow Coach/GM records, no MCI/Eagle, etc.  However, they do have the production lists and rosters for many vehicles on their website -

Last week, I learned how to resize and post photos, let's see if my attempt to post these hyperlinks worked.

Arthur,

Thanks for posting this information.  Looks like this could assist a number of our fellow busnuts.   ;D

Our FVR was waiting in the mail when I just got back from the last trip.  Complete description of part number, serial number when appropriate - I now know the rear axle ratio without getting under the bus.  Original paint numbers.  Options and special equipment; she didn't have a speedometer, but a Wagner tachograph, had provisions for mounting card tables, and a cold-weather starting aid (probably means ether cup, I haven't found a block heater but I can now cross-reference the part number to see if there's something unexpected.  Originally had a Graham-White moisture ejector valve, so now I just have to find it if it's still there.

In short, a well-worthwhile document, and my thanks to the OMOT for making these available.

Arthur -

I have the FVR for my 4106, and agree, it's a very interesting piece of the coach's history.

I have heard, but haven't confirmed, that Prevost will send you a copy of the FVR if you contact them and provide the VIN and proof of ownership (copy of current DMV registration).

Wonder if MCI will, too??  Any MCI owners want to try and ask them, then share their results?
