Bob,
When we installed our LED turn signals on the front and rear, we left the 3 incadesent side turn signals on each side.  We did not change our flasher.
Richard,
Not sure why the link did not work try www.waytekwire.com and enter part # 47940  Jack

Jeremy, I have a question...but don't I always?  I'm going to be mixing LED's and incandescents when Fred Hobe installs my custom rear lights (all LED) this fall.  For the turn signals I'm still going with the incandescents for the front and the LED's in the rear.

I have the option of using LED's in the front then I suppose I would need the LED flasher...but unless I do will the current flasher trigger both the fronts and the rear's?

Bob

My understanding (and I stress that I don't have any practical experience) is that you can retain your existing flasher unit if there is still sufficient resistance in the circuit after fitting the LEDs - that resistance could either come from keeping some of the bulbs as incandescents, or by fitting an additional resistor into the circuit. It could be that if the resistance of the circuit changes slightly the flasher will still work but the rate of flash will change.

Incidentally, the supplier who I am using only lists 12v load resistors / flasher relays - which isn't to say that 24v versions aren't available, just that I haven't come across them.

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

I think Grote (plus other manufacturers) have flashers for every conceivable combination of lights. Check out their website and order through a local dealer if not in stock.

I found a heavy duty motorized flasher that flashes the same speed, regardless of the load. It works great, especially when you connect a trailer or toad to the coach.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a good Reisling in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming:  WOO HOO, what a ride
