About NAPA and filters... does anybody have a NAPA part number for fuel filters (spin-on type) that an MC-8 with 8V71 uses?  I'll check on getting a couple for the trip.  If I have them with me, I won't need them.  If I don't have them, well, that's when I'll need 'em!   ;)

Dallas & Kat, we go right by SOB.  I've always said I wouldn't stop there, but if you guys are there, I'll break my own rule!  It'll depend on what time we finally leave if we stop by Friday or Tuesday (or maybe Wednesday) on the way back.  Hopefully, you both will be home.  Your numbers are programmed in my phone and I'll call you and let you know when we'll be stopping by.  I'll need to get fuel anyway, and SC's diesel is MUCH cheaper than NC's, so if prices are good there, I'll just fill up there.  If not, I know there are some cheap places down past T'ville.  We look forward to seeing you guys, too.  And Kat, I do remember how much I enjoyed driving it last time.  I guess I sort of forgot from being so busy getting things ready for this trip!

Dallas

David,

Napa Primary Filter #3118
Napa Secondary Filter #3120

Wix Primary #33118
Wix Secondary #33120

Baldwin Primary #BF5800
Baldwin Secondary #BF5810

Napa Filters are manufactured by WIX.

If you find you can't stop on the way, just wave and holler as you go by.

The only good thing I've found about Pedros so far is that the fuel is usually about 6ยข/gallon cheaper than Anywhere else close by and that the campground is well kept, quiet and a decent price.
Most of the other stuff at SOB is unmentionable!

Remember to have fun and don't grip the steering wheel too hard!

Well.  I walked all the way down to the bus to get the numbers off my spare NAPA Gold filters and...what the??  >:(  Dallas posted the numbers. They are correct.. ;)
Had to go down to the barn anyway to get the dimensions of the little tie bar that holds the exhaust pipe on the turbo.  Bill Haga's fell off.  He's got a bus like mine.
Oh well...I did find that the..beverages are nice and cold in the bus fridge!
Dallas, is SOB on highway 1?  I've seen the place...just don't remember the exact location.   I'd like to go a'visiting...Jack and Paula are just north of us, you and Cat are just South.  Are you closer to Charlotte at SOBs?   Won't happen next week as we'll be off to a bluegrass festival.
Gonna miss a good'ern Jack!  Cherryholms will be there, GoldWing Express, Nothing Fancy....and a lot of others...got a good lineup for what it costs. This is maybe 2 and a half hours from Mayodan.
Talking about fuel prices, how much is fuel at Pedros?  It's $2.85 here in NC today.  Changes every day.   I'm going down Hwy 74 over to I-95 early next week...camping near Fayettville, NC.  Big party in Salemburg at Laurel Lakes Campground.  LLC would be a good place for a bus rally...by the wayyyyy??? ::)
Gonna get me a 200 gallon tank for the trailer so we can fill the bus without moving it.  Only a few miles from SC boarder..but no good diesel places nearby.  All the boarder stations charge NC prices.
David, hope your trip is great fun and totally uneventful...bus wise!
If I can be any help...and, like Dallas doesn't answer his phone or something, feel free to call me at 704 650 0235.  I'm not much of an MUI mechanic, but, usually near a computer during the day...we'll find one if you need anything!
Cheers dudes and dudettes...JR

As what Dallas & many others already posted.....your biggest concern is to be able to stop for what-if. Never try to hurry just because it going take longer than car and many cars will pass to pull in front of you to fill in the gap that you need for safe stopping space.

Remember before making right turn is to look in right mirror for any small vehicle coming thorough in right lane. Another word just leave enough right lane so that most cars cannot get in there. However motor cycle can so be careful.

I came close to crush them but they went on with their horn blowing....whew!

Most drivers don't pay any attention to your turn signal lights...so be cool & slow till you can.

Never be too close behind semi-truck trailer...trailer is high enough to ram into the weak section above your floor to cause serious body injuries. Try to give even more stopping space....you cannot see  over his trailer to see why or what of the sudden to panic stop.

Never mind what other drivers thinks but you are in control to have it in safe matter.

Try not be in rush hour traffic if possible.

Have a cool trip.

JR, SOB is at the NC/SC state line, right on 95.  We are about 1 hr south of Fayetteville.  The fuel price at the truck stop here ws $2.74 yesterday AM when I was on my way to work.  We'd love to have you guys stop by and we will be here for another couple of weeks.  Just give us a call and we will come out and get you because you can't get inside the gates without renting a spot first.
