Hey Guys and Girls,

Anyone know of a company that will rebuild a FloJet water pump.

Hi Bill,

In some cases it may pay to get a new one.  I believe they are making them to throw away theese days!

Well, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a rebuilt spare on board...  I keep a spare and it seems everyone else seems to use it except me!

Nick,

I bought a new one, to replace one that went out.  Of course I opened it up.  Winding are good, along with the contacts.  About the time it went out, I had been having battery problems.  Thinking it got to much low voltage.  Most likely took out a control chip.  Maybe I will just replace the chips....

Look into the new variable speed pumps-they act more like home style pressure-smooth with no pulsing.  I have two water pumps in parallel for both redundancy and when both are on, my wife can be in the shower and me doing the dishes at the same time without interrupting the water flow.  Good Luck, TomC

Bill,

Rebuilding these pumps is easy.  Rebuild kits are available -- I found good prices at Fisheries Supply.

Generally, if the motor is shot, it does not pay to rebuild -- just replace it.  But if the motor spins but no pressure, buy the rebuild kit and do it yourself.  Takes about ten minutes, instructions are included with the kit.

Sean,

Yes, the pumps are easy.  The motor is what I'm talking about.  Now that is a little tougher problem.
