I need some help. My 1991 Eagle 6v92TA DDEC2 has been spitting a 45 code out. It is the Low Oil pressure code. I checked the pressure in the rear of the bus(mechanical guage) and the front and it reads around 40psi. So I know the pressure is fine, but the bus shuts down. I checked the connector from the DDEC and the oil pressure sensor and all is fine. So, does anyone have a verification method to check th voltages at the sensor? And also a part number? Thanks

Can somone post the connector and pinout also for the oil pressure sensor? The connector shows it going to the upper right connection on the DDEC box?

I have a simular problem a mechcanic said just replace the switch it will goo away. He claims that because the detroits idle at such a low oil pressure that the switch gets weak.

Ok, Sensor Oil PSI middle wire brown 530 goes to P2 530 so the DDEC2 says. Which connector is P2 530 on if you look straight at the DDEC box. There are 3 top connectors, and 2 large bottom. Thanks

I assumed I can start the bus and check voltage between center pin and grnd on the sensor with sensor plug to DDEC off. If there is no voltage, safe to say sensor is bad.

Here's your part number: 23511176
A bad sensor is no surprise, they don't last forever.
I replace them at 500k miles.
Check wiring first, just like you are planning to.
Good luck.

Sammy,
Look at same post on other board. New sensor did the trick. Now if you can read my Boost Question topic and answer it I'll send you a smiley:)

Can't help much with your request but you may want to look at not only your sensor but also look at the sending unit. I think on mine, they all have to work together or you will get a shut down fault in the computer.
Sorry I couldn't be more help. I know how frustrating shut downs can be!
