Ready for first drive!

Home again with plates and tags
We went to DMV today! Boy what a trip! I'm still a nervous wreck! First every drawer in the rig that didn't have a catch to keep it shut slid open with a bang and the closet doors! So we thought  things were braking, then the motor isn't sealed up well yet and diesel smoke was coming in. I turned on all the fans and that helped also shut the sliding doors. Then a flap where the spare tire went came open and hit the highway it was so loud scared us to death. We stopped and he put a bungee cord on it. A few minutes later it does it again! Of course by this time he is cussing and mad so I'm upset. We find a wire in the rig (no tools) and he ties it up so that is fixed for this trip at least! Finally we make it to DMV and the guy comes out and says the Vin numbers on the title and the one on the bus don't match! Oh my what else could happen! I follow him in and he fills out forms and says he will fix it so I get the tags, Plates,& stickers. Relief! That's was spendy!!! By this time we both have a headache and need caffeine. We get fuel and coffee and coke and make it home! We just sat there a while and clamed down! I sure hope the next trip goes much better!!!

But eventually, you realize that for better or worse, you're a busnut and nothing will ever change that!!! :)

When ever we do something for the first time, it's normal to be nervous. Any Bus trip that gets you to your destination and back home again is a successful bus trip. Plus you can also say that no little old ladies or small animals were injured in the licensing of this bus. You'll look back on this day and laugh years from now, but just not today. You can relax and enjoy your bus now.

Welcome to adventure of becoming a "bus-nut". That what make this  MAK board interesting to share the what, how, why, when and where. Wait until you traveling in strange city and to make a ago-around a block to get back in the right path....only to learn after entering into Dead end street....."Dead End" sign covered under trees because bus driver sit higher than cars.  Been there with tow behind twice....no fun to unhook with 2500 miles of oily mess all over dolly & car from engine's air-box drain just to back-up.

Today, I believe this unknown "where to turn" mishap could been avoid now with electronic map.

Any bus-nut near or around Grants Pass, OR. to share with the RMC?
