Hey Paul

We have an 05 of 73 vintage.

The only structural metal I would be concerned with in that area is where the steering gear box attaches. If the metal that holds the gear box is in good shape and the windshield seal is good, I would not be scared of some bondo.

Fiberglass is a good visual improvement but in this instance of no structural value.

"What is the best way to fix the area. "   ??????????????????????????????????????

I like the Metal Camp. And bondo or fiberglass will smooth the rough edges.

All depends on what you want.

Show us pictures, and we can be of more help.

Glad to hear of the new house with all the digs.

It is really easy to shape and form anything you want.  ;D

Do Not get me started on what I have done.  ;)

Hello Bill,

As far as I can tell the square tubing and the rest of the front frame is good. I have not found any rust around steering box and other places, it still has a good coat of paint on it.

The windshield seal is sound, no leaks at all. As uaual I would like to do a good job without disturbing anything. If it ain't broke don't fix it attitude.

I will take some pictures tomorrow and post.

Thanks for the advice.

Paul
