What was the price before the discount I never save any money with TSD card it took a bite out of the over inflated posted prices at truck lanes

1st number is pump price per gal./2nd number is discounted price per gal.

Love's    Jackson GA       4.389 / 3.967    -42.2
Casey's  Shelbyville IN    4.499 / 4.208    -29.1
Love's    Corbin KY          4.649 / 4.137    -51.2
Petro     Kingsland GA      4.459 / 3.807    -65.2

One can see the savings per gal varies at different locations.
Our best per gal savings was on the return trip from Alaska @ $1.10/gal & the semis were lined up!
No pump cut off at set amount & really fast filling a bonus.

Not a place for politics as it should be. But, Here's the truth.  Any president of the United States has little power to control the price of fuel. This president has done what a few other presidents have done, but it has only a minor effect on the price. The major fuel companies have certain things that will cause delays or price increases on a minor scale, but WARS, fires at their plants, dramatic weather changes, and the single biggest change to prices is when Americans stop taking vacations, buy energy efficient vehicles,  are home bound with the flu or some scourge like covid. Our country no longer puts price caps on consumer fuel station prices. Or even restrict multiple increases in fuel prices within a short time. Our congress has more ability to do something with fuel prices than the President or Supreme Court, but the House in particular is and has been low and slow in doing their job, of taking care of us citizens.  But quick to let the biggest corporations write bills to give the advantages to big business. Good job Brandon!...

You are wrong there Carter's creation of the Dept of Energy in 1977 gave presidents a lot of control over prices with policy and regulations. ,Reseach and see what happen to the 600 thousand  barrels of oil seized from Iran a month ago and off loaded. If presidents have no say in prices answer me why did Biden deplete our SPR, the answer is to get a temporary  break in prices and it worked for a short period but here we are in the real world now, oil is trading at around $85.00 a barrel for Nov delivery so we not going to get a break anytime soon

In Az we have RV pumps that are cheaper that truck islands with discounts because of taxes ,people use the truck islands because of the large fast fill nozzle's and some are easier to get into, I don't do truck islands myself since I am in no hurry and truck islands are always so nasty

Does the President Control Gas Prices?
By Jeff Lenard  5 min read

Turns out that U.S. presidents have very little control over the price per gallon consumers pay at the pump.
May 03, 2023
(Editor's note: This blog was originally published on February 3, 2021, and updated on May 1, 2023, to reflect changes in the retail fueling market, including record gasoline prices.)

Let's start with a basic assumption that we can all agree upon: Politicians and their political parties don't want to be affiliated with high gas prices.

And that was fully on display in 2022 with record-high prices and a mid-term election.

Gas prices are the ultimate pocketbook issue that everyone talks about. Songs are written about them. You don't see that about eggs, bread or milk. Or property taxes, for that matter. Quite simply voters hate high—or rising—gas prices. That's probably the main reason that the federal gas tax hasn't budged since 1993 when it was increased to 18.4 cents per gallon.

So given that every politician wants to take credit for keeping gas prices in check, or better, lowering them, and every one running against an incumbent wants to pin blame on the person in charge, it makes sense that politicians would do everything in their power to keep gas prices low. Especially presidents.
So why are they so bad at it?

Actually, it's not that they're bad at it. It's that they have very little control over it. Yes, policies and legislation can certainly play a role, but gas prices are largely dictated by oil prices and oil prices are dependent upon supply and demand. Presidential control is not as simple as what those posts suggest on social media...

Not always supply and demand, Presidents and his department heads control the leasing for the land to explore, they control the permits to drill, they control the pipelines to distribute the oil on federal land.We are paying out billions under Biden for sign leases he wouldn't issue permits to drill even the Indians are pissed at some of the crap. Why do think Texas has so much oil drilling and production it because they don't deal with the federal government BS all the wells are on private land and the US government has no say, expect for some boundaries in the Gulf of Mexico .The private producers in west Texas can sell their oil to any country that doesn't have a embargo, they sell to Mexico and sell a lot to refineries owned by Isarel in Big Spring Texas, they refine the oil into fuel and ship it out keeping just enough to take care of the few stations they own in West Texas, same deal with Citco owned by Venezuela and those are counted in the supply but never stay here. The rig count drops every month so the price will stay high for a while longer.Biden will never refill our SPR he lied and let the opportunity pass when the price was in the range he said he would replace the oil.Ok that enough for F/B too

I sent the Country Coach to Phoenix for a windshield and gave the driver a credit card for fuel.I get alerts for purchases damn $710.00 for 148 gals of diesel is crazy. Then I think about Van with the Prevost with a 220 gal tank 200 gals would be almost a $1000.00,this game is getting to rich for me

Just tell yourself its a boat with wheels - a land yacht IOW. 1000 bux will feel like a hell of a bargain.
