Grand Canyon Caverns

Some of you may remember the previous owner of BCM also owned Grand Canyon Caverns,  where he held a bus rally. Today, Wednesday some tourists visiting the  Caverns have been stuck down in the Caverns since Sunday when the elevator broke! No time frame reported when it will be fixed...

Mike doesn't own the Caverns anymore,it was sold for taxes someone said and went back to the Indian tribe .it's not a nice park and needs a lot of work and upgrades,there is no way I would have ridden that elevator hell I would not ride it 20 years ago

It said 20 people walked out after climbing 21 flights of stairs but there were 5 people who could not do it so they stayed at that level and a hotel brought them food. They are rigging up a single person bucket today for them.

Coconino County is not a good place for rescue efforts it is huge in sq miles like all counties in AZ most of the population is Flagstaff,Mohave County is probably helping since Kingman is the nearest to Peach Springs.People don't know that over 50% of the Grand Canyon National Park is in Mohave County

We were there, parked next to Sean and his Neoplan it was 2003 I think but not for sure

Sounds about right. 2003 was the year we got our 05 on the road and that was the first rally we ever attended. That started a change in my life that was for the best.

Mike had a partner that owned Transit Bus Sales that passed away and Mike owned the Caverns for awhile,the Caverns is on Indian land no one will ever own it out right

We were there for New Years 04/05. There were a few others there as well but not that many. I remember that there had been a larger gathering at least a year earlier. Mike was there with bells on. He conned me into buying the New Years fireworks. I bought them in Montana on the way south and I may have got a thank you but definitely nothing more.

LOL Mike wasn't going to jail Bob back then it was illegal to bring fireworks into AZ
