scenicrusier-turbo -engine bay overall heat protection

working on Scenic again, this time gathering parts to replace very back of interior floor which is the top of the engine bay. it is in really bad shape. also, i have replaced the wore out 8V71 with a 8V92 turbo. sure seems like that turbo is somewhat close to the top of the floor boards I'm getting ready to replace. now, i could just raise that flooring but this is going to be the bedroom in the conversion. how well do those turbro covers /exhaust wraps work?i plan to make part of floor hinge so i can perform top of the engine maintenance. if anyone has better ideas, I'm sure listening. Also, anyone have a good source for those turbo/exhaust manifold wraps?  thanks   mike

You can buy the turbo blanket from Amazon ,Coops will custom make the blankets,I bought my set from Firwin.com I don't know if they are still around or not.The bed room is going to get hot even with the expensive covers,if you are worried about the turbo front mount it, that is what I done on my Eagle

that engine is a giant heat soak. Insulate bedroom floor well. But eventually, even all the insulation will get hot too. Some kind of ventilation fan when parked to cool off engine faster.
