By the end of summer I hope to be mobile. My goal is to make the "Random Acts of Camping" rally in the end of September. Lots to do between now and then, we'll see how it goes.

I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

Hey Bob. Dorothy felt the house began to twitch for a few hours last night. We are almost to the NC state line and all the genuine Wizard of Oz twisters were south of Atlanta (as usual). The mountains seem to break up the storms, but not always! I will take a few pictures of the bus barn when power company hooks up the big black wire dangling on the side of the building. Spray foam went great and passed electrical inspection so just waiting for the big white power company truck. Not moving the bus there until I have power.
Van (and others). Don't know where you will be in NC but I have a big concrete ramp with 50 amp and water if you need a "free" harvest host stopping point. Find Lake Nottely on google earth or maps and see if it is too far out of your way. It would be a good halfway point going south for Chessie and Buswarrior if headed to Florida. We welcome all BCM folks.
Jim, Rita likes the advertisement for random acts of camping. Let us know if you are going. It will probably get us to go with you. Two buses with tools always makes me think nothing will break...
And Rancher, just have Fred send you some of the 100 degree heat in LA today and hook up the planter..

Hope to cross paths with some of you nuts along the way! Currently in Mohave Valley Az where the temps have already  Exceeded the century mark (whew!). Our coach is as ready as ready can be and so our we since we started fulltiming last Sept.

Its been very cool here also it was in the twenty's just the other morning. Still feeding the wood boiler once a day. We need some rain here and warmer weather. Normally we would be planting corn in three days here. Still shopping for buses.
Rancher are you still planting corn with the price of fertilizer or maybe some other crop instead? Good luck on the bus hunt. Stay warm.
Build back better not working we need to make American great again. Lets go Brandon!

Planning on it. Probably after Tom's River. The highway drops south right out of there and then cut west to Vineland. I'll probably have another small shopping list for him and tell him I will get it in person. Three BCM guys told me it is an interesting stop and he is always great on the phone. I'd just like to meet him. And we have a special bond. We are both married to Jersey girls....

Dave its been very windy up this way also the last couple days. Sixty plus MPH gusts yesterday little less today. Like you more wind coming next week. I wish it would bring in some rain. You must be down around Wamego KS. That's about 150 miles straight south of me.

Our crop rotation won't be changing we put our fertilizer last fall and yes it was three times the normally cost but because of chemicals that have been used and FSA requirements it tough to change your rotation up. So our bean ground last year goes corn and our corn ground last year goes beans. Any up swing in price we saw last year is long gone. We were dry threw here last year so some of the crops were good and some not so good. We need some rain or we are going to have a rough start to the growing season.

...and here I was complaining about a little cold wind the last few days. At least I have trees and hills to break it up a bit. Bet you guys get right tired of leaning into the wind all the time.

Hi Mason, yep we were at 68MPH all day yesterday and the Bus was a rockin, LOL watched them out the window spraying the fields around us Beans and corn they say. We see the big tank trailers with Anhydrosamonia going by and hooking up to the tractors. Things are starting to green up around here.

Rancher yep we are there. Nice little town and have friends in St Mary's where the wife is getting Liver therapy every other day. We go over to Manhatten twice a month to get food etc. Wamego is all about OZ and a lot slower than northern California where we we're from before we became Kansan's with plates on one of our cars because we could not get a smog inspection for Calif. So we registered it here. Are you in Omaha?

Yep next week they say we need to watch for tornadoes in our area. Oh what fun

We just watched the weather channel for a few since temps here tonight will kill the tomato plants. They did a segment on the University of Ga weather station that happened to be dead nuts in the way of the big tornado a couple of days ago. The stick measured 129 mph before it broke it. That is breezy!
My Colorado buddies and family ask if we worry about the twisters. I said yes, but one has to pretty much hit your house. And everyone around comes to help.
I worried more about Hurricanes when we lived in Florida. When a hurricane hits, everybody gets smashed and everybody wants help in a large area at the same time. And help can't get to you. I'll take the twister risk all day long over a Katrina.
Back to buses. Just put in the monster canister air filter Luke sent me. Made me Happy. Diesel down to 4.38 at Walmart here so guess I better go put in about 120 gallons in the morning.
Not happy....

No Dave I am just north west of Lincoln Ne on a farm. Almost straight north of you up highway 77. I grew up in SE Nebraska and my folks had a small truck stop and we ran trucks also so highway 24 and 36 in KS were major for us. I pulled a lot of loads of fuel out of Topeka Ks when I was a young man.
