Hmm, looks like this is how it works.  If mod detects EXIF encoding, it rotates sideways image automatically, if not it attaches image sideways.  Then you can 'Modify' post, and you'll see an option to rotate the image in 'Attached' below the post editor.  So you have to first attach it and post, if it's still assways, go back to post editor, rotate it, and repost.  That's what I've done with the attached pic.

Krash,
I thank you for working on this. I worked with several computer systems in my long career with Uncle Sam. And I did go in and learn how to turn pictures, even experimented with turning my phone sideways like Eagle guy. But if you can make this just work from the system side it would be great.
Not everyone knows how or is willing to figure out the turn the picture thing. And when you start talking "EXIF encoding", many (including me) hear " I tawt I taw a puddy tat."
I have seen people write a nice blurb about their bus and then post 4 pictures to the "Post your bus here" site, only to delete it a few days later. Probably after they got frustrated trying to fix the photos. If someone breaks down and calls for help, with pictures, the expert wrench guys LIVE to help that person. Very frustrating for the " I'm stranded" guy that is sending sideways photos.
Again, I thank you from the bottom of my un encoded heart that you are studying it.
Best of luck with it and best regards,
Ted

It's not a problem with the forumware or the mod, it's to do with the OS on the device you're using.  If your device adds EXIF data to the jpeg image header (not all do), the mod can read it and determine the native orientation of the image and rotate it correctly when it posts.  In that case you don't have to do anything to post the image rightside up.  If the jpeg does not include EXIF data, it will be posted in the orientation the pic was taken.  In that case, you can go back into the post editor (click 'Modify'), and you'll see a select menu for each attachment that allows you to rotate the image and repost it correctly.  As you can see, I've fixed the image in Tedsoldbus's post by rotating it 90° right.

The mod also resizes images to 750px max height or width, so if you attach a huge image without downsizing it (this was a problem on one of my forums), it will resize the image so it fits nicely in your post.
