Lot of the time where the rods are on the bulk head they rust out and you turn the adjustment till it finds something solid, lol one time I had to use a come a long on mine to get home

That would possibly make sense  as only 1 side is all the way out

Mason if it was me I would fix what I had after doing that job once.Kaiser in OR installed wider brake shoes and drums on the front of my 05 using a offset brake shoe it was pricy and I could not tell any difference in stopping.I have the wider shoes, backing plate and drums for the rear they are a lot easier to do.That front end is heavy my tractor will not pick it up so I know it weighs more than 8v92

I measured my Model 10 front and the Torsilastic tubes are about 5' 2" long, and the axle hubs are 8' wide, stud to stud. If it weighs more than a 8V92, depending on accessories, that would put it in the area of 3500 - 4000 lbs. Perfect load for a Ford dually F350 or 450. The problem will be loading it with some cribbing. Mason, did you get the pictures of the Model 15 front that I sent you?

I may be all wet, but I used Uship (uship.com) for a piece of family furniture my wife wanted.  Reasonably priced, and unbelievably well wrapped and cared for.  They seem to be an on-line broker, matching shippers with carriers -- not sure if commercial carriers are included.  Looks like everything, up to heavy equipment.

My other option (to keep She Who Must Be Obeyed happy) was a 3500 mile round trip, so well worth the $500 or so.

I wonder how they'd load/unload something that big and heavy, but it might be worth contacting them.

I use YouShip all the time and love them. You do not need to crate it, just a way to lift it up onto a trailer. When he schedules the shipment with them just list it as a piece of "Machinery" with no crating. It will go nicely on a flat bed and can be chained down with very little effort.

I moved a piece of equipment (close to the same size) from Miami Florida to Boston, MA last year for $500

clifford, would that be bogie brakes or drive axle brakes?

someone 'cough' upgraded me to normal parking brakes at somepoint on rear axle. brake drums on rear axle are physically twice as wide as bogie and steer brakes, right now.

im just figuring that front end components are completely worn out. All along, i figured on bigger brakes at one point on the front and bogie.

maybe someone can tell me here. since i have a model 01 front end, is it worth it to change to later model front end components or shall i just try fix what i have. Im getting the impression that parts are non existent or else very hard to find for 01 front end components...

Any clue what it cost us last time to have a boom truck sling load just the engine on my trailer back in 2019? I know the prices went through the roof as of early 2021 and can imagine what they are now.
