Hello to all:

My rear end is leaking in 5 spots and I can't stop.
Does anyone know of a shop for a rebuilt or reconditioned rear axle/deiferential?

Where is leaking at the drop box, differential pumpkin where ? most of the time people used lock washers instead of grade 8 flat washers or used silicone instead of gaskets

the drop box seal (WHICH WAS JUST REPLACED)and pumpkin seam, the front access plate. welded on some but still have 5 leaks

Thanks

Doesn't sound all that bad to me,when drop seals leak it usually a sign of bearings starting to fail or wasn't pre loaded. I know of no one that wants to work on the drop box setup anymore. Gary Hatt did his own at my place and stopped the leaks took him 4 days to remove the silicone

I also sent days scraping the stuff off and cleaning with spirits but wanted to find someone who has done it before or many times.
They know the tricks to working on that giant piece of metal.

thanks

For cleaning surfaces in my opinion is a angled (90 degree) die grinder with prep pads will quickly and easily peel silicon or old stuck on gasket material right off. Use it so it throws the crap away from the inside of the housing saves hours of scraping. Also Fleet Pride formerly Catco in Roseville MN will rebuild dropboxes  (new bearings) minus bad gears and carriers they did mine.
Build back better not working we need to make American great again. Lets go Brandon!
