Delo 100 is the gold standard, but I use Miles All-Spec; meets the certification requirements and it's significantly cheaper and more available (Amazon can deliver it).

Summit Racing has Mobil Delvac 40 that they will ship directly to your house.

FYI, when I first got my MCI, there was a case of Chevron's Delo 100 in one of the bays. I used that, and was having to add a gallon about every 800-900 miles.  After finding out that Detroit's Power Guard 40, the factory fill oil, was actually Mobil Delvac 1240 that was private labeled, I switched to that on my next oil change. Interestingly, my oil consumption dropped, with the Delvac I was now going about 1500 miles before having to add a gallon.

That's just been my experience with those two brands. I've never used Shell's Rotella T, or the Miles Spec, so I can't comment on those. Rotella seems to be popular primarily because it's a little easier to find and also a little less expensive.

Ditto on the reduced oil consumption in switching from Delo to Delvac.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

Ditto on the reduced oil consumption. Summit racing has it on sale now at $15.25 a gallon now. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mob-104056-1

Thanks for the tip, Bill! I know they put it on sale periodically, so the timing is right for today's discussion!

Delvac comes four gallons to a case, so I just ordered two cases (8 gallons), enough for an oil change for my engine. I already have three gallons, so I'll still have some spares.

Hidden bonus: Free shipping if your order is over $99, so, with sales tax, my order came to $132.77. Your price may vary due to sales tax differences.

Many thanks for the heads up!  I have been waiting for the 1240 to go on sale again at Summit Racing and just grabbed a few pails myself.
