had a great seminar at FMCA convention in Gillette, Wy.  Covered solar systems and installations. Presented by Briter Solar. The lady was very versed in solar systems and use and answered many questions from the group of about 100. Nice part, she wasnt there plugging their brand. Mainly to inform us about solar systems for our rv's.
there were seminars also on towing, tires and failure diagnosis by a guy that does this for 40 years now, electrical systems, etc. Also seminars showing what all the "buttons"on the cell cameras do. Great info. Also travel apps and planning apps in another seminar.

That is what is so great about the big rallies. I miss the BusnUSA rally in Oregon, and the Arcadia rally in Florida with over a hundred buses, and lots of seminars...

Although we realize Oregon is much closer to you, we always hope that the Arcadia Rally has a comeback one of these years as it is only 3 hrs south of the house! Piece of trivia I like to share is after 37 years of same & only bus ownership - our 1st ever rally was Arcadia 2015-16! Never a club membership nor rally prior to that...geeze

I liked the rallies of the past when CAT,and Detroit had the engines and Toyo tires were there with good info,FMCA had good seminars,I always like Jim Shepard's (the belt guy) on fire prevention in RV and Dick Wrights on generators,we haven't been to a FMCA convention in several years.Last one in OR their parking really sucked they left us in a holding area for a week along with 40 others lol then it rained and FMCA wanted us to call for tow trucks that went over like turd in a punch bowl, the cost for power is out of this world now at a convention so we don't go anymore but still paying FMCA

Not much @ the FMCA conventions for bus owners now like in the years past though, now the FMCA depends on the factory made motor homes and travel trailers for revenue. It's sad to see a long time chapter like the Western GM people drop out of FMCA.The only reason I stay is for the medical it alone is worth the 75 bucks a year to me if it goes away again we will drop out

My last RV show was a real disappointment as the industries nod to solar was maybe a 100W panel on the roof (wiring pre-installed). I think there was one vendor out 100+ that talked anything other than led acid batteries or quite generators.

We have found that the FMCA rally's as well as some Bus rallies are way overpriced for what you get anymore.

Dave -

I thought the NW BusNuts Skamania Rally we caravaned to was a pretty decent rally for the price.

Just because you haven't seen me at a rally lately doesn't mean I haven't been paying attention - or attending a rally you're not aware of, for that matter.

Five years already???

Time sure flies. . . I'm attending my oldest granddaughter's wedding this weekend - five years ago she was still in high school!

Back to my original point - I liked the Skamania rally, it was a nice mix of people, activities and at a reasonable cost.

There have also been a couple of rallies I've attended that weren't worth the rally fee, thus you win some and lose some. Often it's more about the people than the event itself, like anything else.
