Power steering pressure check

I'm wondering where would be a good place to tap into the power steering pressure side for a gauge. Manual says it should be 1500 psi.

I don't rightfully know the answer, we have power assist and I would guess a tap would be at the outlet of the pump?

I'll try to find a place to T into I guess.
I removed the reservoir and changed some hoses. Refilled and haven't driven on the road. It just seems a little stiff. I double-checked to make sure I didn't reverse the hoses.

Might try to get both front wheels off the ground and turn it full travel each way several times to work the air out if you haven already done that.

When you say you removed the reservoir & changed some hoses. Is the reservoir back where is was or did you change the configuration with the reservoir farther away from the pump? If so - I'm making another guess that the pump is laboring to get the fluid it needs fast enough?

The pressure test port is on the steering box a 1/8th plug install a gauge turn to the left till it bumps

If your power steering system is anything like the GM full power steering, be sure your thumbs and fingers are outside the steering wheel if you raise the wheels to turn it back and forth to bleed the system. The GM manual warns about the wheel being able to jerk back hard enough to break a finger.

While you were back there working on the system, did you change the two filters?

I replaced the reservoir filter and cleaned the strainer. I'll watch my hands, thanks for the tip.
