Bus engines have 1/2 the life span of engines in trucks it has a battle with heat with the rear engine and always a battle for fresh clean air ,MCI knew that with the 8v92 ,360 hp to 400 hp was MCI limit on HP with the 8v92 but owners want the HP and pay a price

Yes, my s60 only has 340k miles but has no paint left on the engine block. I'm assuming from the confined engine bay holding a lot of heat.

Hmmm, I have been told that the 8V71TA engine on my bus can be cranked up to 400HP by changing the cams, 80 series injectors and a larger turbo.

It's something something that I am considering; only problem is that on my Prevost you have to yank the engine in order to change the cams.

You can get 450 hp out of 8v71 but their life is short too and heat goes with HP increases not only do you pull the the heads need to removed to change cams not worth the work and money involved for 50 more hp going from 350 hp IMO

So will the 1968 oem air filter allow the correct cfm for the 8v92?

If your setup draws air from both sides, then you have enough intake capacity, but you may need to upgrade the air filter to make sure you have up to 1500 cfm.

What is the filter upgrade #, it's got a 42125 wix which has 995 cfm now.

Use the ECO system and forget about it the 995 cfm is a N/A 8v71 cfm rating
