DIY on ythe cheap

Watched these go by today and thought they would work fine for fresh water and gray/black tanks. Not the best size but the price is right to get a bus converted on the cheap
And the bus to get started. They looked alright. If the motor was running, that alone covers the cost.

Especially one that held diesel. Can't imagine it's possible to ever fully get that out.

Sewer will corrode aluminum they will start leaking in the seams over time,it was always a problem in boats but so was stainless

Maybe clean well then coat inside with a bio-safe sealant. There must be product around to do that without too much cost. Remember, this is not the best option but may be a very cheap and acceptable option if the inside can be safely coated.

Don't even think of one of those for water. Consider plastic tank.  Consolidated plastics makes hundreds of different plastic containers.

Yes, they are cheap!  Another consideration is how well the limited bay space is used.  I initially considered using plastic 55 gal drums until I calculated how much "wasted" space I would be using.  I eventually went with rectangualar tanks that allowed me to use my bay space more efficiently. 

I am only using one bay for all my water tank and pump, and waste tanks.  I also have my propane system, and my 12 VDC and 120 VAC distribution panels in that same bay.

This leave 2 full bays to available to haul other stuff around!

To each his own.  I am very cheap, but wasted space must be assigned a cost also. 
Tanks are not something you want to have to re-do on the road later.

Tank coatings are troublesome and coating aluminum with anything is prone to failure. So here's a cheap quick fix that is likely to cost more in the long run than just doing it right the first time. Also ingesting aluminum has a possible link to Alzheimer's and we don't need that.
