Phil the guy that takes care of this board has a DL3 has the regular valve cover with the taller riser on his series 60 mine did too, but as you know the floor has to be raised for jakes on a series 60 on all 6 cylinders no way around it.Pac/Brake may have the taller riser if they will sell it without the complete set up.They are aftermarket Pac/Brake could not sell the tall covers only the riser in their kits but I was told the 60 series G model (CNG) engines and marine engines with a heat exchanger have the taller riser but  don't know that for sure

Yours looks to have so much more space between the beam and the cover.  Mine is very tight.  I know I need to raise the floor for the taller cover.  That is not a problem, I'm just trying to figure out the cover issue.

Jc you need a taller top piece I already posted this pic but here it is again

As you can see my spacer is the same but it's the top cover that's taller

See if you can find a tall one piece cover from a truck salvage yard. You don't have to use the 2 piece since you're going to raise the floor and put full jakes on anyway. A lot of the trucks used taller one piece covers. That's what's on mine. You might also try http://fowlersautowrecking.com they probably have a hundred or more of the dl3.
Some are called, some are sent, some just got up and went.

Thanks Derrick.  That's a good suggestion.

Derrick

Do you have a model number for the cover that's on yours.  I am having the hardest time finding the correct valve cover for a full set of brakes.

I don't have a number on the valve cover. Did you check with Fowlers?

Jc, around here we always use vanderhaags, they have great service and fast shipping, you just need a universal tall cover, they are all the same, here is one from vanderhaags

You might have to make a big hole in the floor to drop a one piece cover on.... not sure what it looks like back there on a mci

On the DL3 you can put Jakes on #1-4 without any modifications but to have a full set it requires a modification to the floor. I built a little dog house over #5 & 6 and notched the floor out.

I have emailed Fowlers for months and called a few times.  They haven't responded back.  So no luck there.

I have dealt with Fowlers on several occasions. Just keep calling, email kinda gets swept under the rug. There is only one guy (i think his name is Joe??) that handles all the bus parts orders and he is always extremely busy. There is also a salvage yard in Comifornia called transit sales 18002877253 they also have several DL3's.

I'm not ignoring anyone.  I was simply replying to Derrick's suggestion regarding Fowler's.  I plan to order from you link.  Today I purchased the wiring harness.  Next pay period I will order the valve cover.  Then I think I should have everything for an install.  That won't take place until I install the siding.  Can't drive down the highway without siding.  I'm anxiously waiting for the snow to melt.
