Are Koni's worth the price ? I have 1 leaking anyone have a good outlet for the Koni 90-2572 shocks

Cliff,

I have them on my Newell, 52000 lbs fully wet. I put them on six years ago, and they have held up for 6 years and 75k miles. In my opinion, they are not as cushy as the Bilsteins or Monroes, but offer a bit more control on undulating surfaces. I did adjust them to their firmest setting.

Keep an eye on delivery times, if the folks you buy from do not have them in stock.

I put them on the front many years ago. As I remember it, they helped with steering control. I have Bilstein on my Jeep and and old motorhome a long time ago. I liked them also.

shocks already? how old is that motorhome? Personally, I'd use Monro or Gabriel, unless they can be had at similar price. You talking about 10? does it have noticeable side to side rocking?

No rocking rides like a dream I just notice one was damp around the shaft ,checking the shocks today it came with gas Bilsteins it is a 2008 model so I don't think they are leaking,I am 52,000 GVW bumping 50,000 miles now it has 10 shocks like the a MCI DL I owned

I replaced the Bilstein's on the rear of mine last month when I found them leaking after 24 years and 130K on the clock.. I had a choice of three levels,, Standard,, heavy duty,, or Premium that fit my rig..( each with increasing shaft size.) I chose Heavy duty gas pressured at 360 PSI.. It made a noticeable difference in the roll control..>>>Dan

I understand Koni's are rebuildable. Since you can adjust them, I believe you just keep unscrewing them and they come apart to rebuild. I know Cliff would be capable of this. Good Luck, TomC

In between our two Alaska road trips in the last few years we replaced all our oem shocks to replacement new oem Monroe shocks. The difference was unbelievable. We were waiting to fight again with some of the great white north rough highways & byways but it really never came. We felt the greatest improvement was with the rebound (air ride) after the frost heaves - very much more controlled & comfortable.
