I have found a 4104 setting in the woods of Western NC.

Been there long enough for the trees to pin it in.

So far I have not been able to find out who belongs to it.

It is about 100 ft. off the road in a steep place.

I think it was driven down the hill to a flat place.

Than tried to get it out and burnt the clutch out.

Will take pictures of it.

Uncle Ned,

I appreciate your love for buses, especially those that are iconic and uselessly wasting away in the woods. I purchased a 4104 about 20 years ago that didn't run, and was parked in a storage facility that needed $40.00 a month to cover the fees. It was 500 miles away. I hoped to someday have it shipped to my property. Unfortunately, after paying the fees for a couple of years, I finally gave it to the owner of the facility, as I could not afford at the time to have it shipped. I know it needed a clutch, but in hindsight, I wish I would have taken the time to have it fixed and eventually have a running 4104. It was already nicely converted,  but probably not professionally. I really don't remember. However, I still kick myself, especially with it being a 4104. They are nice buses. I'll be looking forward to see the pictures. Glennman.

Does Siberyd (John Usle) know about this one?   He's BCM's resident 4104 archivist.

Uncle Ned,

What the closest town to the bus in the woods. Someone recently posted on Facebook that they are getting a free 4104 in the woods of NC. Was the one you saw missing it's bay doors?

Lenoir NC is the closest town to the bus in the woods.

I believe all doors and most windows were there.

Also the engine looked complete.

From where it was setting i would bet thry burnt the clutch out try ing to get it out and just left it there.

Been there long enough that there is a tree growing so close to the drivers window that the lower door can be opened.
