Busy day, with our California weather in the 60s, I was able to finish both the inverter carriage and the battery slide out. Both work awesome and I wanted to thank everyone who offered suggestions. I couldn't be happier. 8) 8)

We decided on 2 inch C channel 6061 aluminum ($150.00) We made the outer frame and then the inner tray. The tray has 10 small ball-bearing based wheels that fit nicely inside the C channel. We placed three of the wheels closely together at the back of the tray to compensate for weight as the tray slides out. The local industrial caster folks assisted in determining the exact wheel to use. We also made four side securing feet and bolted the entire unit on top of industrial rubber to act as a cushion. I used a marine grade plywood with coating as the base for the tray. We then used a piece of 2 inch angle (same material as the tray) for the track stops on each side with a simple lynch pin to keep the unit stable during transport. The fourth wheel stud is larger and that acts as a stop when sliding out the tray. Works great.

I have several more pictures of better quality should you need more visuals.

Thanks
