I've tried it a few times, but it was so non-intuitive to me I gave up on it.

This is mapping software for planning and tracking road trips. These have mostly been left behind the current generation of free online tools like Google Maps. One could debate which works better when out of internet range. Depending on the tool's usage, one may work better than the other. For most, the convenience and cost(free) sways one toward online tools like Google Maps.
