Anyone ever heard of Furrion CHILL a/c units or ac silencers? https://wackoproducts.com/product/coleman-rv-a-c-silencer/  $189 seems ridiculous

One just sold for $77 on an auction site I follow.

I believe there was a discussion of Furrion A/C's within the last few months, but I'm not finding it in a search. I have the impression that they are made in China, and parts and service were difficult to get. If the price is super cheap, it's not a good sign. It seems that the older models like the DuoTherm Penguin, and some Coleman's are much longer lasting.

Time will tell whether they are successful in their products, or end up being another has been. From one review on Amazon, they seem to use more plastic than other brands. Other reviews mention damage in shipping. Could be manufacturer doesn't  use proper packaging to avoid damage in shipping. In any course, I wouldn't  take a chance on them till they have a history of relialability. You can't  go wrong with Colemans, which is the only one I'll  use.

I was thinking on purchasing an automotive evaporator core that will stack on the defroster heater core then build the rest of the system from there using a main engine run compressor. Any & all comments would be appreciated. There is no dash room for a stand alone evaporator.

You can get cores that include both the heater and the A/C, maybe that will do what you want.

I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

Call Luke. The heater core is the same as the one on a 4905. The ac unit sits right on top of it with little brackets. He probably can get you a take off. I would like to do something similar with mine, since it is still there. The rest was removed when they did the conversion.
