Hi All, just had all wheels weighed individually,  turned out good, always wondered how I did on the build. The worst was a 500lb difference on the drives from side to side. Suggested much less air in all the tires for ride and full patch on the ground. I patted my self on the back and hurt my shoulder, lvmci...

What sort of weigh facilities measure individual wheels? The typical scales at truck stops do not seem equipped to do this.

You can go to most scales and park your bus so only one tire at a time is on the scale.  They have several open scales in Oregon that they leave on 24/7 with no attendant there. I did this with my bus and adjusted the torsilastics at the scale based on the weight of each tire.

The scales need to be leveled quite precisely, if you park with one wheel on tarmac and the other on the scale and there is an inch difference the weight will be a fair bit off.

I watched the new Foretravels being built a couple of weeks ago they had each wheel on scales all the wheels were in the 39 lb differential weight amazing,The 2 different sizes of tire was a ? for me 315/80/22.5 on 9 inch wheels on the front axle and 295/22.5 on 8-1/4 inch wheels on the rear and tag axle this was million and half dollar coach Prevost uses different size tires to

He weighed each side at the same time both fronts, both drive axle sides, both tag sides, so they were on the same surface all the time, right in my RV spot. but he did raise the tag axles a bit on some 1 inch plywood while measuring drive wheels.

Sorry to counter think-but the ground level doesn't make any difference with an air ride bus. Once you drive onto the weighing platforms, the rear suspension will automatically adjust side to side. Then since the front suspension has typically only one leveling valve, the front suspension will quickly adjust to side to side and measure the same pressure on both front tires.

Now with steel spring suspension, this is totally different. One inch difference can make for different read out. This is why driving onto a perfectly level big plate scale is really the only accurate way of weighing.

With those weights, the tag axle isn't really needed. But I understand it makes for more stability and braking power. Good Luck, TomC

Don you can weigh at 49er truck stop on I-80. If not to busy which most of the time the scales are not. You can weigh each wheel and the whole bus plus each axle just takes some forward and backing up moving over driving.  :)
