It was recently announced that NISSAN is going to drop the CUMMINS 5.0L V8 in the TITAN at the end of this year leaving the 5.6L V8 gasoline engine as the sole power plant in the TITAN and TITAN XD.
If you look on CUMMINS website, there is little to nothing about the ISV and I noticed that BLUEBIRD no longer offers it in the VISION leaving the ISB 6.7 as the sole diesel in that school bus line.
Looks like CUMMINS was counting on NISSAN to keep that engine going since CUMMINS never was able to get much OEM interest other than BLUEBIRD and perhaps a few motorhome builders.
This engine was originally going to be the diesel option in the RAM 1500 but that didn't happen when CHRYSLER was having issues and about to be acquired by FIAT.
CUMMINS already has the ISB 6.7 which already covers most of the HP in the ISV range so perhaps that's why there was lack of interest being that the 6.7 is a long proven performer with a better range.
But then again CUMMINS sadly always seem to have trouble getting V8 engines over with the market.

The DD5 in the Thomas school buses are a bust also so Cummins has company they are not alone  ;D,If Cummins did away with 6 feet of bicycle chain driving the cams I think that would be a good engine ,there are a few running in motorhomes

I didn't know the DD5 was a lemon.
I guess that explains why THOMAS still offers the CUMMINS ISB in the C2.
Kind of an embarrassment that THOMAS's sister unit builds stinker engines and has to rely on an outside supplier.
I don't know what CUMMINS
problem is in why the ISV v8 didn't pan out for NISSAN but some contend that V8 four cycle engines are less than grand.
I don't buy that since the FORD POWERSTROKE and GM DURAMAX have wide acceptance for many years.

Ford power stroke type engines had their issues. Many think the 7.3 was the best.

The graphite iron block with the aluminum heads on the Cummins 5.0 V8 was not a good marriage plus the the 27,000 psi rail pressure and all the chains, the Cummins guy was really pushing the 5.0 V8 to replace the V10 Ford in RV's at the FMCA show

FORD seems to prefer to build their own Diesel engines so it was unlikely that they would ever have used the ISV as an option to the V10.
They don't even offer a diesel option in their motorhome chassis anyway.

Ford offers a diesel in their class C and super B chassis for a RV just the V10 for the class A chassis

Ford only offers Diesel in the Transit. The E350, E450, motorhome chassis only has the gasoline engine. Too bad they don't offer the 6.7 liter Diesel.

I have a good friend with the high end Coach House (C)2018 model ($200k+) that has a 6.7

It must be built on the FORD F SERIES that your friend has if it has the 6.7L diesel since the E SERIES only has the 6.8L V10 gasoline.
Apparently the POWER STROKE won't fit in that compartment.
Doesn't make sense why they never engineered it to fit but who knows about FORD and some of their decisions.
