Did Ramco ever make a mirror mount for the 4905. If not, did anyone make a different mount work?

Yes. They make them for both models with the pivot in the mirror head and with the pivot in the arm.

I've got a set of them for the pivot in the mirror arm that I'm not using. Got them through Luke last year, but didn't like them. I ended up going back to the OEM mirrors.

The Ramco are stamped sheet metal, and they tend to transmit vibration a bit more than the OEM. Even though these are an inch larger than the OEM, I went back to the OEM. Vibration may not bother everyone but it did me.

I was going to try to stiffen the inside of the stamped steel housing by layering fiberglass inside, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

The ones I have are painted metallic light gray to match the fiberglass headlight surrounds on my bus. Let me know if you are interested.

I plan on bringing the Ramco mirrors to Blytheville if no one takes them before then.

Actually, I just went to look up the website for the mirrors I've got, and they are not Ramco. They are Rosco mirrors.

Not sure if this helps or not, but it's all I've got.

The heads on mine are plastic but dont vibrate. I assume they are later GM.

I'm guessing that they have a cast frame inside that plastic casing. The OEM mirrors on mine are rock solid as well.

I was hoping the slightly larger mirror would be beneficial, but the vibration negated any benefit I got.

Maybe I'll be able to find different arms to mount on the OEM body mounts one day which will enable me to use more modern mirrors. The problem I've found with the mirrors on the Buffalo buses is that the shaft enters the bottom of the mirror at an angle. Nearly all the more modern (heated w/electric adjustment) have a mount which comes into them vertically at the bottom.

My guess is that it will be possible to find mirror arms which will mount to the OEM body mounts, or even to have a pair machined from aluminum stock. Just haven't got to that portion of my punch list yet.
