Has anyone found a windshield from a newer bus that could be cut down to  fit? I've just been wondering, with so many buses and RVs now with huge windshields, if possibly one of them would be close enough to cut down to fit.

Seen the one on eBay. I need both sides though. So at that rate we're talking $3000. I just can't afford that right now. Was hoping to find a more affordable remedy.

Try  googling custom auto glass. Maybe they can help.

The guy that bought our 4104 did custom car work for a business. Was featured in one of the custom car magazines.I think his name was John Kouw or something similiar. Anyway he mentioned getting glass for custom cars wasn't an issue; that there were companies that could cut and shape glass to about any design. Let us know how you make out!

Traditionally, curved glass was heated and placed in a mold, which costs thousands. Many windshields would have to be produced to justify the cost. Perhaps the robotic glass producing plants have other ways of shaping glass now, and can produce small quantities, but those robots are more expensive than the old molds. If old glass can be copied and reproduced that would be great, but at what cost? Flat glass is not much of a problem, but anything shaped in small quantities can be expensive. I once tried to find a windshield for a Model 04 Eagle with no luck whatsoever.  :o

Well, maybe we'll  find out if he inquires and reports back. If prices were reasonable, it sure would be helpful in securing another item that is disappearing  on us.

Getting a glass custom made, requiring molds, runs about $5000. The cost per window would go down with quantity as there'd already be a mold. In my case, needing both front windows, I'd be looking at $10,000. Hence my desire to find one that could be cut down.
