Hints on replacing bushings

Hello,

I'm replacing the suspension bushings (18) in a MCI 5B 1976 bus.
Does anyone have any helpful hints or ideas to help with the workload?

Are you talking about the dog-bone bushings?

I did mine, and they were a bear to remove the arms, then I had to find a shop with a 50 ton press to get the new bushings in the arms.  Hope yours are easier.  Plus I only did 2 at a time so the suspension wouldn't shift too far out of alignment.

End result:. Perfect steering without wander.

Another option is the polyurethane bushings.  They come split and therefore are very easy to replace.  My old rubber bushings were shot and relatively easy to remove with normal hand tools.  The new urethane bushings have held up well for the past 110,000 miles.  No issues from them.
